Who does the work
Not this website. demolitionmandurah.com.au exists to pass demolition enquiries to independent contractors operating around Mandurah and the Peel region. When you ring (08) 9516 2266 or lodge the form, your enquiry is forwarded to one or more of those contractors, and everything that follows — the site visit, the quote, the contract, the invoice, the machines — happens under that contractor's own business. The site's operator performs no demolition and stands outside whatever agreement you reach.
Nothing here is a vetting service
Read this paragraph twice: no contractor receiving a referral from this site has had their licence, registration, insurance, qualifications or track record checked by the site's operator, and nothing on this site claims otherwise. Treat any contractor — from here or anywhere — as unverified until you have done two things yourself:
- Confirm licensing with WorkSafe WA (worksafe.wa.gov.au) where the job involves licensed demolition classes or asbestos removal. WA law reserves removal of more than 10 m² of bonded asbestos, and any friable asbestos, for licensed removalists — verify the licence number with the regulator directly rather than trusting paperwork shown to you.
- Sight current insurance. Ask for the contractor's public liability certificate of currency (and workers' compensation where they employ people), issued by the insurer, in date, in the contractor's trading name.
A contractor who hesitates on either has answered your real question.
Guide figures are guides
Prices, permit descriptions, timeframes and suburb commentary published here are general information current at the date printed on each page — planning tools, nothing more. They bind nobody: no contractor is obliged to honour a band on the costs page, no council is obliged to behave as the permits page summarises, and no wording anywhere on this site guarantees that any permit, approval or clearance will be granted. Building law in WA changes and councils apply it property by property. Your quote comes from a contractor in writing; your permit answer comes from the City of Mandurah or Shire of Murray; your licensing answer comes from WorkSafe WA.
About asbestos, permanently
There are no asbestos removal instructions on this site and there never will be. If a Peel-region property predates 1990, the working assumption is that asbestos is present until laboratory testing says otherwise, and confirmed material at licensable quantities belongs exclusively to licensed removalists. Do not cut it, drill it, drop it, pressure-wash it or "just take one sheet off". The referral service exists so nobody has to.
Where responsibility sits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site's operator accepts no responsibility for the work, pricing, delays, conduct, licensing status or insurance position of any independent contractor engaged following a referral, nor for outcomes of relying on the general information here. If work goes wrong, your remedies run against the contractor under your contract and the Australian Consumer Law — and nothing on this page reduces those statutory rights by a millimetre.
